WHY "BEING SEEN"?

You show up. You deliver. You adapt to every room you walk into.

From the outside, it looks like you have it all together.

But somewhere along the way you learned;

  • To make yourself smaller.

  • To soften your opinions.

  • To ask for less.

  • To take up less space.

Until it became your normal.

You became so used to adapting... that your own needs slowly faded into the background. That isn't a flaw. It's something many of us learn to do.

And it can be unlearned.

Not through more advice, but through honest conversations, meaningful reflection, and the courage to finally take up space again.

The Art of Being Seen is what this afternoon is for.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE

🌿 Welcome (1:30 PM – 2:00 PM)

Arrive, and take the time to settle into the beautiful surroundings of Stadsvilla Sonsbeek.

Meet the other women, disconnect from the outside world and prepare for an afternoon dedicated entirely to yourself.

✨ Opening Circle (2:00 PM – 2:30 PM)

Discover the story behind Maison Akoma, meet your facilitator Jane-Priscillia and explore the inspiration behind The Art of Being Seen.

Together, we will create a safe space before beginning with a guided breathing exercise and a short meditation.

💬 Guided Conversation Circles (2:30 PM – 4:00 PM)

This is the heart of the Maison Akoma experience.

You will become part of meaningful conversations designed to encourage reflection, honesty and genuine connection.

Each Reflection Circle explores a different aspect of personal growth.

Take a moment to discover each one and choose the conversation that resonates most with where you are today.

🌿 Rediscover Yourself Growth Focus: Identity

Who are you beneath the expectations?

Reconnect with your authentic self and explore the parts of your identity that may have been shaped by other people's expectations, past experiences or the roles you have learned to play.

❤️ Know Your Worth Growth Focus: Self-Worth

Learning to see your own value before seeking it from others.

Explore the foundations of your self-esteem, recognise your strengths and begin building confidence that comes from within rather than external validation.

🌸 Choose Yourself Growth Focus: Boundaries

Choosing yourself without guilt.

Reflect on the relationships and situations where you tend to put yourself last, and discover how healthy boundaries can help you honour your needs without losing yourself.

✨ Become Her Growth Focus: Confidence

Stepping into the woman you are becoming.

Reconnect with your dreams, explore what has been holding you back and identify the first courageous step towards the life you truly want.

✨ Collective Reflection (4:00 PM – 4:30 PM)

We will come back together as one group to share the most meaningful insights from each Reflection Circle.

This is a moment to learn from one another, celebrate different perspectives and leave feeling inspired, supported and a little more connected to yourself.

🥞 Continue the Connection (From 4:30 PM)

The afternoon does not have to end when the workshop does.

Anyone who wishes is warmly invited to join us in Sonsbeek Park for homemade crêpes, quiches, sweet treats and refreshments prepared with love by Maison Akoma.

A relaxed and informal moment to continue the conversations, build new friendships and simply enjoy being together.

IS THIS EXPERIENCE FOR YOU?

This afternoon is for you if…

  • You often feel like you are constantly adapting to everyone around you.

  • You find yourself shrinking your opinions, your voice or your needs.

  • You struggle to know what you truly want.

  • You're ready to reconnect with yourself and build deeper confidence.

  • You want honest conversations with women who simply get it.

And it's not for you if…

  • You're looking for a networking event with business cards and elevator pitches.

  • You'd rather keep the conversation at small talk.

  • You want someone to hand you a five-step formula.

You don't need to have everything figured out. You just need to be willing to show up.

YOU WILL LEAVE WITH

  • One concrete action to take into your daily life — written, decided, yours

  • Practical insights and new perspectives on where you've been shrinking — and how to stop

  • Honest connections with women who ask themselves the same questions

  • And the experience of an afternoon where you didn't have to perform

MEET YOUR FACILITATOR

I spent years adapting to different environments and different expectations, while trying to navigate life carrying my own emotional baggage. At one point, I realised I had been living on autopilot. Then it hit me.

I was afraid of being seen.

For me, being seen meant being exposed. It meant opening myself up to other people's judgement—but more than anything, it meant facing my own.

That realisation became the beginning of a much deeper journey.

Through my own experiences, years of personal development and a growing passion for psychology, philosophy and spirituality, I rebuilt a stronger relationship with myself.

Along the way, I discovered that I was far from being the only woman asking these same questions. Today, I work as a Life Coach, helping women reconnect with themselves, rebuild their self-esteem and develop the confidence to become the leader of their own lives.

Maison Akoma was born from that mission.

I created this experience to offer the kind of space I once needed myself: a space where women can pause, reflect, have honest conversations and leave feeling more connected to themselves.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE

Do I have to share personal things?

No. You can speak as much or as little as you like. Listening is participating too.

I'm coming alone. Is that strange?

Not at all — you are very welcome to come alone. The experience is designed to make it easy to connect naturally with the other women.

Is this therapy?

No. It's a guided conversation among women, facilitated with care. If deeper support is what you need, this can be a beautiful first step — not a replacement.

What language is the event in?

English.

What is included in my ticket?

Your ticket includes:

  • Full access to The Art of Being Seen experience and all activities planned during the event

  • Access to the beautiful Stadsvilla Sonsbeek venue in Arnhem

  • Guided discussions and reflective exercises led by Jane-Priscillia, founder of Maison Akoma and life coach

  • Unlimited coffee & tea throughout the afternoon

  • A warm, intimate space to connect, express yourself and meet like-minded women

  • Fresh crêpes, sweets and drinks to enjoy together in Sonsbeek Park at the end of the session (weather permitting)
